What a Wednesday! Jessica & I attended the ACSI District Spelling Bee at Mullein Hill Christian Academy in Lakeville, Mass. After having individual class spelling bees at school, there were 4 winners from Masters that attended, 2 from 7th grade and 2 from 8th grade. When we got to Mullein Hill, each grade level had a bee in the morning, producing 2 winners. Then after lunch, the 2 winners from each grade level (5th through 8th) had a spell-off. Jessica came in 2nd in the 7th grade and hung on in the final rounds to finish 2nd overall. I was so blessed to be able to be there and see it all! Although, I think I'm still shaking. We think she will be attending the regional competition in the spring, so we'll keep you posted. On a side note, she brought her rubik's cube to keep herself occupied. All of a sudden a group of kids from another school came over and asked if they could mess up the cube. They handed it back to her, offering her $10 to solve it. She simply replied, "O.K." They quickly withdrew their offer.
