A Close Call

On Friday, I got yet another phonecall from school. Jessica had come in contact with what appeared to be some sort of peanut product. Her whole face was swelled up like a balloon by the time I got there. She came very close to getting the epi-pen for the first time. Praise God, though, the Benadryl kicked in just in the nick of time. We don't want to visit any more emergency rooms. She had had a new kind of chicken for lunch that day, but there was no sign of peanuts or peanut products on the label. So now we need to explore whether the store inaccurately labeled the item, or whether she may be allergic to something more than peanuts. The Lord led us to a really good allergist in the process, though. So, we'll keep you all updated. In the meantime, Jessica is hoping for a peanut-free planet!
