It has been a long time coming, I know, but I wanted to share the story and pics! I finally got them e-mailed to me from the Pastor who took them. On December 10, 2008 Cassidy had the final performance of her Christmas play, in front of the whole school. In the middle of saying her lines, she stumbled backward, righted herself, said some more lines, and then completely PASSED OUT! There were a combination of reasons that contributed to her mishap, including a gash on her finger that was bleeding profusely. It is so awesome to look back and see how God's hand guided the situation. I praise Him for looking out for us. The stage manager caught Cassidy in mid-fall and swiftly whisked her out of the sanctuary and summoned the school nurse. Nurse Milton then called the rescue when it appeared that Cassidy was disoriented. The other students and Cassidy's choir director all pitched in to cover the rest of Cassidy's lines, as well as her solo. There were many teachers and parents that helped take her (very hot) costume off and keep her cool and calm until the rescue arrived. Cassidy says that the men in the rescue were really nice. Then, in typical Mrs. DeCastro fashion, she calmly called me and asked me to meet them at the hospital. God was so good to allow me to NOT BE THERE when it happened. (I'm not the best at handling that kind of situation.) Anyway, we thank God for His tender mercies and all the many angels He sent to take care of us that day. It was a powerful reminder that He truly is in control, even if we aren't. XO
